In 2017, I had the opportunity to lead the redesign of the Pfizer Aviation Checklist iOS App, aimed at modernizing the user experience and addressing usability issues. The app was originally designed exclusively for iPhones, and our goal was to make it universally accessible across various screen sizes. The project focused on improving touch targets, revamping the information architecture, and consolidating multiple apps into a single comprehensive solution.
The original app had major usability issues—small touch targets, poor responsiveness, and an inconsistent experience across screen sizes. The goal was to redesign it into a seamless, user-friendly interface.
I conducted user interviews and gathered feedback from Pfizer’s private pilots. To better understand their context, I used VR to immerse myself in the Gulfstream jet experience. These insights shaped every design decision moving forward.
I applied modern design principles to streamline the interface, reduce clutter, and improve navigation. My focus was on clarity, simplicity, and easy access to key features.
Touch targets were resized to meet accessibility standards, dramatically improving interaction accuracy. These small adjustments had a big impact on overall ease of use.
I restructured the app’s IA based on core user tasks, organizing content in a way that made navigation faster and more intuitive.
I rebuilt the app as a Universal iOS solution, delivering a seamless, consistent experience across iPhone and iPad. Pilots can now access key features anytime, on any device—without compromise.
The redesigned Aviation Checklist app delivered a modern, intuitive experience with improved usability, streamlined navigation, and full compatibility across iOS devices—empowering Pfizer pilots to operate more efficiently, anywhere.
